Psalm 51:10-12
New International Version (NIV)
10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
Well, what I have come to realize is that we have somehow booted God out and rented his house out to people and things that have no business there. The first pitfall. We allow our hearts to be consumed with fear, hate, discontentment, lust. We allow boy/girlfriends, work, money to set at the throne of our hearts.. SMH!! That's not even the worst part!
After we allow these people and things to move into Gods house ( our hearts). When we realize things aren't right and we search for God (of course he waits with open arms for us) he has no where to live in us. We then expect God to either squeeze in with all that clutter and mess or we ask God to clean up and clear it out for us. ( now you might think that this is a good thing to ask God but there is a difference) "faith without work is dead". It is great you search for , found and have faith that God will change your heart but he will not do it FOR you. You, my dear, must also put in work. This is usually the second and deepest pitfall. The work of removing the lust, fear, hurt, etc. Letting go is not the humans species strongest point. Honestly, this is where my struggle kind of toggles. I know there are things and people I MUST remove from my heart but Urgh >:o Its sooooooo hard.
So we know what to do! Secret Weapon unleashed, The Mighty Power of Prayer! You and I, let's pray harder in the difficult moments. Let's remember who's house your heart really belongs to. After all, how would you feel if someone whom you thought loved you, kicked you out of your home? How would you feel, if they invited you back only to live with dirtiness and messiness? How would you really feel if they said, I want you to come back but you have to clean it out. ( Side Eye for days)
I realize God wants so much greatness in our lives, but he wants to work it from within. We have to allow God to have a home in us. So many blessings, so much grace and protection. God exceeds in abundance more that we can ever imagine, IF we allow him in our lives, in our spirit, to live in our heart.
God Bless you family!
